Brisbane is Australia's third-most popular destination for international tourists. With so much to see in the City, it's no wonder why students learn English in Brisbane. A diverse city
Brisbane was founded in 1825 when a group European settler looking for a place with a reliable water supply, settled along the Brisbane River in a place the local Turrgal and Jagera people called Mian-jin (place shaped as a spike). Today this is Brisbane's central business district.
In less than two centuries, the Brisbane urban area has grown to over two million inhabitants and the population is very multicultural. More than 28 percent of Brisbane inhabitants were born overseas, and more than 16 percent of households speak a language other than English including Cantonese, Italian, Mandarin, Samoan, and Vietnamese.

The sun shines all year round in Brisbane!
While climate is largely influenced by the proximity of the ocean, the sun shines all year round in Brisbane, with an average 300 days of sunshine per year. Daytime temperatures go from an average of 16ºC in the colder months to 26ºC in the warm season, peaking at a high of 40ºC between December and February and low of 3ºC at night in July.
For students with a more active lifestyle, Brisbane offers over 27 kilometres of cycle lanes and infrastructures to play rugby, football, cricket, baseball, tennis and more... The river is popular for water sports, boating or fishing excursions, and climbers can enjoy the Story Bridge adventure or climbing at Kangaroo Point cliffs.
