The people of Kelowna enjoy an active lifestyle. On a sunny day, many flock to the Downtown City Park, where they enjoy a friendly atmosphere and playgrounds for the little ones. Another great place to relax is Bertram Park at the end of Lakeshore Road, which has stunning grassy areas and beaches to explore.

If you don’t feel like hiking all the way up Knox Mountain, you can always drive most of the way to the top, grab a picnic basket and then walk the final five minutes to the viewpoint!
If you like history and culture, explore Guisachan Heritage Park - the main house, log house and expensive grounds make a lovely day out. Or visit Benvoulin Heritage Church, a pretty pioneer church that is now very popular for weddings.
Of course, living in Kelowna wouldn’t be complete without enjoying what the wine region has to offer. You can take a tour to the many wineries, sampling the wines and enjoying their beautiful surroundings. Some of the best wineries in the region include Summerhill Winery, Mission Hill Winery and Quail’s Gate Winery.
Relish in the outdoor activities Kelowna has to offer
If you really want a thrill, why not zoom through the forest canopy on a zipline? There are a couple of options for zipline experiences, including Oyama Ziplines and Zipzone Adventure Park just outside of Kelowna. You will get an adrenaline rush from flying high into the forest canopy and seeing the forest stretched out below you.
Don’t miss the chance to get out on Okanagan Lake! You can rent a boat for an hour or a day and visit the quiet beaches, or head out on a sailing or fishing experience. And if you play or would like to try golf, there are some excellent golf courses in the area.
