Join us for the launch of the IALC 2018 Research Report at IALC Bologna!
  • The IALC 2018 Research Report – Perfecting the student experience will launch at our IALC Bologna Workshop in April 2018.
  • A follow up report to the IALC 2017 Report
  • A deeper analysis of the student experience in IALC schools
  • The IALC seminar will be hosted by Patrik Pavlacic from StudentMarketing.

Join us for the launch and release of our IALC 2018 Research Report: Perfecting the student experience, a follow up report to the IALC 2017 Research Report: Student expectations, experiences and satisfaction. Both reports were the result of an online survey of over 4,700 students and one of the first systematic attempts to measure the student experience at a global level. This second report delves deeper than its predecessor in its analyses of the experience of students in IALC schools by measuring levels of student fulfilment.

Some key learning outcomes from the 2018 Report:

  • The purpose of studying a language is shifting towards a more goal-oriented approach. Personal reasons continue to prevail in the language travel landscape but language acquisition tied to academic goals is increasing.
  • A significant proportion of students (28%) have a track record of learning a foreign language abroad before enrolling at an IALC school. For 10% of students, an IALC school was the first instance of learning a foreign language in their life.
  • By far the single most positive and enriching aspect of students’ stay abroad was teaching staff at IALC schools.
  • Current students seem to be more driven by the IALC brand than former students (5% vs 3%), which points to improved branding and marketing activities by the association and individual schools over the measured period.

You will be able to pick up a copy of our latest report in Bologna on Thursday 19 April and it will be available to download on the same day.
